Shifting Seasons Protection Spray
I did an interview this morning and the topic of protection came up. I talked about how I wish I had made protection more of a priority earlier in my practice and how I really want to focus on protection a lot moving forward. I’ve made many a protection potion over the years but like with most things, my understanding of self-protection has evolved and I wanted to make something to reflect that. Additionally, I haven’t made a spray in a while so here we are. Not to mention, shifting seasons can be challenging. It’s a new energy and navigating changes can leave you feeling open and vulnerable. So a little extra protection during this time can’t hurt.
1 teas. Dried dill weed
2 bay leaves
2 oz water
1 oz vodka
3 drops geranium essential oil
9 drops clove essential oil
9 drops pine essential oil
Kitchen Twine, optional
Bring the water to a boil then remove from the heat and add the dill and bay leaves. Allow the mixture to steep until completely cool. Fill a 2 oz spray bottle halfway with vodka and add the essential oils. Shake gently to distribute the oils. Strain the dill and bay leaves from the water then pour into the bottle to fill. Cap and shake well.
Wrap a length of kitchen twine and tie it tightly around the bottle to symbolize protecting the contents within. Shake well before use and mist your space lightly, especially by the doors and windows.
